In December 2024, I took a side trip into the late middle ages, in a way. A young adventurer trying to find his way in the world. An able-bodied virgin queen seeking a consort. A random battle that joined their bodies and their fortunes for life.
That story turned into Majesty of Defeat, which is now live on Kindle Unlimited and Amazon Kindle. It’s a 27,000 word story with a happy non-cliffhanger ending, but there’s more to come.
Follow Davian of West Fork into the arena, where he meets his match and defeats her. The adventure begins as he prepares to take his new role in her world, both personally and royally.
I expected this story to be a standalone one-off, but before the first draft finished, I had three strings to follow and tie down in volume two. And recently, I went out shopping over the weekend and it felt like every time I got back in my car, another idea came to mind for this story.
At this point, I expect three volumes. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if that number is higher. As many other writers have said, reviews and ratings will help me figure out how far to take the story.
