Welcome to the new year.

First, a promo update. Tracey Rose will be on an Amazon promo from January 29 to February 5. You’re welcome to buy or borrow it before then, but if you’re holding out, that would be a good week to save a dollar or two.

With that out of the way though….

I came into the new year working on a story with a connection to Tracey. I had the core of the story setup figured out, but wasn’t sure where the main female character would go with it. In the last two weeks, I’ve had a quirky relationship develop and I suspect I’m a quarter of the way through the story now.

I’m also feeling more understanding of how someone could get to the end of a story and not be sure if they want to take it beyond the end of one book. Misty and Marilyn, I get you. And I hope to be able to take this story away from the resort town back to civilization.

But along the way, I had another dream with some potential. I took a break from the other book to start this one, and in five days I’ve caught up to the first one. What start off as a third inspiration from a hitchhiker story, a third watching too many YouTube videos about van conversions, and a third getting stuck on the Bangles on my music player… suddenly had a weird twist that I have to work up to.

I have a stake in the ground for both novels, and I should be able to take a break here and there and get another short piece or two into your Kindles this month.
