Over the past few days, I aggregated and trimmed the six (6!) (not six factorial) volumes that make up the Mendocino series into one document, and loaded it into Reedsy (my editing/formatting tool).

With it all in one book, the “where we’ve been” and “what’s next” parts aren’t needed, and of course I trimmed out the rest of the extraneous/duplicate front and back matter.

Still, it’s currently 50 chapters, a little over 61,000 words, and the final bit isn’t quite complete yet. However, I still exported to epub and read it all on my Kindle.

I’m happy with how well I kept the story together, even though it has been 17 months since the first word was published. And I’m really looking forward to it being a single volume for you to enjoy, especially in paperback form.

That being said, I’m still writing new material. My almost-paranormal contemporary harem romance, You Are My Water, My World, broke 50,000 words yesterday (in 41 calendar days of writing), and I’m beginning to wind down volume one so I can move on to volume two. The wedding is done, the honeymoon is underway, and I’m expecting a surprise to set Kelvin and his family up for the second part of this story.

I’ve also begun a quirky woodland romance (all human, present day, just themed around a well in a woodland setting) that will probably take some time. I mentioned a pseudo-isekai story in a post last month–that’s still stuck waiting for more inspiration. Accidental Monarch (the sequel to Majesty of Defeat) is crawling along as well. And I have a fair bit more in the hopper waiting for time and development.

I do want to put a request out there for my readers. If you’ve read something of mine that you liked, I’d welcome your rating and even a quick review on Amazon. It helps keep my material more visible and helps me know what to focus on as I push through the backlog and the new inspirations.
