Even with two books released this month, I feel like I’m falling behind.

In case you missed them, Monkey Marketing is a non-fiction guide to setting up your Internet presence as a writer, although it could also apply to other Internet-intense businesses.

The Tasting Menu is an interracial casual encounter inspired by a Craigslist posting in the 2000s that never came to much. This one will have a second part in the near future.

My current project list has 11 new (2024) works, a 2022 contemporary fantasy story that stalled out but might find new life soon, and four 2017 stories that comprise half each of two series.

Sometimes this sort of workload can lead to writer’s pause, but I’m pleased to say that two books are headed for editing by the weekend, and another one or two may drop by the first week of April.

And in the process of working on graphics for one of the two stories coming real soon, I ended up getting ideas for a couple more to come after the return of Brenda Marie and the third Mendocino story.

From my January project post, you’ve seen the first Solana story with Brenda Marie, and the prequel and the first two Mendocino stories. “Eleven First Dates” looks like it will be end of the month with a different name, and the Frida Kahlo-mentioning story is one of the ones coming in the next week. I’ve worked on cover art (including the image accompanying this post) and outlining for the sysadmin story I mentioned there, but it’s probably going to take longer.

The plan for this month was to do a short or two a week, but I’m finding I don’t limit my word count well on a story. So what I thought would be 5000 words ends up breaking five digits, or I want to continue the story, or both. I was never one for one-night-stands in real life (they were never even “happy for now” or HFN, much less “happily ever after” or HEA), so somehow I don’t find them compelling to write either. But you’ll probably see a few more novelettes in the coming months while I work on the sysadmin story in the background.

You can see my current publications on my Author Page at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/author/marklinfoster

I have a tip jar at https://www.buymeacoffee.com/marklinfoster

I have an author profile on Goodreads, and welcome feedback and reviews there as well as reviews on Amazon.

Amazon links on this site are affiliate links, meaning that I earn commissions from qualifying links, at no extra cost to you. I also may get a bonus if you try Kindle Unlimited, which gives you access to all of my stories and probably millions more on Amazon for a monthly subscription fee. That link should give you a free month to check it out (and read everything I’ve published so far).
