New: Monkey Marketing: Make your name and build your brand as a new author for less than $20
Non-fiction was not on my bingo card this year. But here we are.
One thing that can derail a writer faster than Windows Updates or the cat walking into the room is social media.
I’d had my Twitter handle since 2015 (I think) and my domain name and empty website since about 2003. But I didn’t really want to get too heavily into social media in my writer persona, because I want to focus on getting the words out so you can read them.
But in getting into the writing corners of Reddit this year, I’ve found myself giving some common sense advice to people who are new to promotion and preparation. I finally decided to put the ideas into an ebook to see what other people think.
Enter the newest book:
Monkey Marketing for New Writers: Make your name in the world for less than $20 #ad
I’ve come up with a sequence of nine steps, eight of which should take less than two hours combined (except for waiting for an external verification to be completed). The total cost for the process is less than $20 including buying my little book, although if you have Kindle Unlimited, you can read it without paying a penny more.
By following these nine steps, you can take a manageable detour to setting up your writing presence on the Internet without derailing your writing or your budget.
As an aside, I decided to venture off the Amazon Kindle eBook Cover creator for this book. I started with a couple of rounds with Google’s ImageFX AI creator, working toward an image of a monkey and a writer, with a stack of books and a pile of coins. Then I went over to Canva to create a cover from one of their templates. Download/Export as JPG, and then load it into KDP.
I’m a little bit shocked at how well this worked out. Let me know what you think.
